As the title says, the long awaited update for the Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket and the Samsung Galaxy Note are available through Samsung Kies!
I've downloaded the update myself and I must say a lot of improvements have been made, definitely worth the wait!
On your marks! Get ready! Download!

"Definitely worth the wait"?! Wihle I'm excited, the wait was still too long. I would love to hear an honest justification of why it took so long, but we never will.

It's bittersweet. It looks like an uglier version of Gingerbread and I'm already seeing some downgrades in customization and general feel of the UI. Probably going to end up rooting and changing around the UI.

I updated last night and am seeing frequent hangs. How do I go back to Gingerbread?

ICS 4.0.4 upgrade for Samsung Galaxy SII SKYROCKET - need to install the Samsung Kies software first>
Samsung "Kies" Version.2.3.2.12064_9
then the whole procedure is clearly written in the below link>
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQ
Important Note: ICS upgrade for SKYROCKET needs a faster Computer (Desktop/Laptop) with a very good internet connection(no connection interruption during the whole process) which has good speed too. Because Kies software's download speed is very slow.
The process takes 3 steps:
1. first a small file will be downloaded via Kies
2. Second time main ICS file will be downloaded via Kies
3. ICS file will be written into The Skyrocket (very much improtant and serious matter, because if there is any interruption in this step phone will be bricked)

Or, use one of the many custom ROMs available. I am. Loving it. I don't know why AT&T insists on wasting time and money (costs they pass on to us) trying to bloat their ROMs with crap-ware nobody wants or uses. The first carrier I find with good coverage, connectivity and speed that DOESN'T wrong-headedly try to de-commoditize their market with stupid ideas like AT&T Navigator, I'm jumping ship.
Since all the major carriers install their own bloatware onto phones, your best bet is a Nexus device. Other unlocked devices are a consideration, as well. Sprint allows you to delete the bloatware once you get the phone, but it comes pre-installed on the phone.
