"Everyone else" does not have JB. The dual core LTE version of the One X has been released in at least 7 countries/carriers. Only 3 (Asia, Telstra, Rogers) have gotten the JB update so far.
That speaks more directly to the point than anything though. How does rogers have it ready before a big major company like at&t.
I would think the fact that they have so many more customers that are getting upset about it would make it a priority.
The reason Rogers has it ready first is because they didn't spend their entire time seeing what bloatware they could cram into it.
I think I've held out long enough, and they clearly could give a crap less what anyone says on these message boards. So I think it' time to see what xda has available.

Sorry, I think your statement is incorrect. HTC & AT&T have already announced that the One X will be updated it's just a question of when will the update be ready. Please stop trolling.

Any word on the update? Galaxy S III owners have had two Jelly Bean updates for AT&T and it came out months after the HTC One X? Also - international, Canada etc... how about a date at least? Thinking of switching the whole family to Verizon after this

It has been 8 months since the HTC one X was released. No security updates. Nothing. At first I thought it would be cool if Comcast, like AT&T, told me when I could update the OS on my PC, but the analogy is not correct. AT&T supports these phones, Comcast does not support my PC hardware or Windows. AT&T supports hardware, software and the network. I tried calling HTC once back with my old phone, and they asked if I contacted AT&T first. So AT&T supports everything connected with these phones under contract, except 3rd party apps.

This is the same update that was released in the beginning of December 2012. When it was initially released, users could only install it via Samsung's Kies software. The release that you're referring to is the same update, but it's being rolled out OTA.

This statement is completely false. There were 2 firmware updates to the original shipped one. Shipped firmware at release in May 2012 was 1.73. There were subsequent OTA updates to 1.85 and then later to 2.20.
They weren't major Android builds (like ICS>JB), but they were significant upgrades that greatly improved reception, battery life for many users, as well as included some useful (although relateively minor) new options.

I agree, HTC has been fairly forthcoming about what's been fixed and what still needs to be fixed in the FW updates. My guess is that we'll see soon.

It's been a month since your last response - Is it possible for you to check and see if there is any news on an update coming? or if there is not going to be one?

2.20 also included the option in Settings to change the function of the multi-task button (press for menu, long press for multi-task is my favorite).
Not sure, but think it also included the ability to hide the arrow keys on the keyboard (also in Settings).

Pretty popular post in the forums here. Is no one from AT&T going to respond? From everyone's experience here, which of the carriers would be a good one to switch to? I like T-Mobile when I was on it. Went ot AT&T for the One X, definitely not for the service.

I switched to AT&T after having been a T-Mobile customer for over 7 years. I live in NYC, in what is supposedly an area that gets best possible 4G coverage (according to T-Mobile's own coverage maps). My data speeds were never higher than 2.5 Mbps downstream, but I could live with that. In August 2011, the speeds dropped to 0.5 Mbps. After multiple conversations with T-Mobile, I was informed that the cell site serving my area needs repairs and that a ticket is already in place. Fast-forward to July 2012. No improvements have been made, so I decided to give T-Mobile one final call before switching to AT&T. After following up with T-Mobile's engineering department, the tech support rep informed me that there are no problems in my area, that it has the best possible 4G coverage, and that my phones are the problem. Having gotten better speeds in other areas of the city, I knew full well that my phones were not the problem, which made it easy for me to cancel my contract and switch to AT&T.
Sure, AT&T has its share of problems, especially when it comes to issuing timely Android updates. However, T-Mobile has its own issues. In fact, all carriers do.

Well said (the whole post, as I obviously just quoted a portion of it for brevity). Pick your carrier for the best overall service, including reception, price, international service (if it applies to you), etc. If it makes sense to swithch carriers, by all means do so. But its silly to ditch AT&T just because of a firmware update. At least on GSM networks, you have some freedom to use non-AT&T branded devices, which is not the case with CDMA carriers.

I have been exchanging email with AT&T support regarding a defective HTC replaced by a defective HTC which was in turn replaced by an even more defective HTC.
Suddenly all the messages are gone from the online private message box.

So now that every other HTC One X device carrier has updated their handsets to Jellybean, even the Canadian carriers have done it, does AT&T happen to even know when this update is coming out? Now that we're last in the world for getting it, it doesn't matter much anymore, I just want to know if my device is going to get it before I purchase the S4. I'm only going to the S4 because apparently Samsung has the power to force AT&T to update their crap, much like Apple, and I know I won't have to wait forver to see something.

The other thing I love to hear about is how the different versions out there are so different. Your right, there are different models of One X's out there, but AT&T only sells one version. I don't understand how with all the "personnel" they have, they cant manage to get these things out. It's not just this phone either, its multiple devices. The only reason the S3 got the update is because Samsung forced their hand, they just started releasing Jellybean over Kies, and AT&T had to respond to it.
I can understand customizing the updates before they push them out, but with the other companies (mainly google) starting to manufacture their own handsets, and the increasing cheapness of going with a paid by month carrier, which are springing up all over the country, things like this are going to end the day when we have to pay these people for handsets, and then deal with their outrageous wait times, for things that should be simple.
I've been with AT&T for a long time now, almost 9 years, they have great service everywhere I've gone. I just can't stand waiting forever for updates to the device everyone in the world uses more often then anything else they own. It's rediculous.

This might sound REALLY off from what is probably actually gonna happen...but is it at all possible that AT&T is taking so long because they are skipping the 4.1 update and just going right for the 4.2? This is pretty much impossible, but did anyone ever think...just maybe???
