Other way around. JB is available for the international version, but not AT&T. And the hardware for the international version is completely different hardware, so it really has little bearing on when it will come for our version.
No official word on when JB will come for us. Some are speculating Nov. or Dec., but its just speculation.

From what I have read online today, looks like we will be waiting until next year! REALLY AT&T? I'm so glad I bought a "flagship" device so that I can be treated like I bought a bottom of the barrel product. With the one x+ out and coming with jelly bean, I would say enough testing has been done on the update as it is essentially the same phone as the plain one x. The only difference I can see is you can make more money by forcing people to buy the new version instead of releasing an update. So here's to greed, I guess I'll just stick nexus products in the future.

The AT&T One X is actually completely different internal hardware from the X+. The X+ is actually based on the Tegra3 SoC (rather than the Snapdragon S4 on the AT&T version); and therefore more of an incremental upgrade to the international One X, rather than the AT&T version (which is really the One XL).
But agreed that AT&T takes too long to test new firmware. But we already knew that didn't we?

Actually the att one x is the HTC one xl, the rogers version which is based on the s4 chip it has the jelly bean release. The India, Canadian, and Asian versions are the same. Sooooooo at&t. Just don't add the carp boast ware, or allow for unlockingthe downloader for the devs to fix up

Come on, throw us a bone here. Anything? Smoke signals (that would be funny considering they are a communications corporation)? Message in a bottle? A posty note in the wind?

Nah I did that with the Inspire. I am hoping to stay with a stock experience for a while. But if at&t can't get it together that is always a fall back position considering all the other JB roms are coming out. the devs will have a daily driver soon enough.

Yah, this is getting pretty rediculous. They just released the update for the Atrix HD. This came out not only at the same time, but wasn't pushed nearly as hard. I'm getting pretty annoyed watching everyone I know use it, while I'm sitting here with what I thought was a flagship device for ATT, and I still dont have it.

Now the Atrix HD is updating to 4.1.x... AT&T, what's the holdup on the One X?

Yeah. I have no idea why they released it for the Atrix before the One X. It's a much more used phone. This is starting to make me want to purchase a phone directly from Google. At least then I'll have something to look forward to with my phone. I've been with them almost 7 years, and I've just grown accustomed to never seeing an update for anything on my phone.

Are you kidding? The Sprint version is getting it already? AT&T, what are you doing? This just makes me feel bad for haggling HTC for so long when it's now clear that AT&T is really the one holding up the process. None of us want to use YP mobile or your crappy navigation anyway. Stop wasting your own money and just get us the tool that we want in order to stay on-board as your customer.

Man I am so fed up with AT&T! I purchase a new flagship "state of the art" phone for $200 bucks 7 months ago! Every other company and brand phone is getting the jelly bean update EXCEPT THE PHONE THAT I HAVE. So what does AT&T do for me? They release a new phone (HTC ONE X+) for the same price but oh sorry Mr. customer, because you just purchased a phone recently you do not qualify for an upgrade!
I have had AT&T for over 11 years and spend easily $300 + per month. I must say that I am thoroughly disgusted on how this jeally bean thing has been handled. I know nobody cares but I just had to vent for a bit because this is the end of my with AT&T service.

Being rooted and bootloader unlocked, does not mean you HAVE to install a custom ROM. It also means you can install stock rooted ROMs intended for other carriers.
Telstra has announced that their version of the One X is getting JB on Dec. 24. A flashable rooted stock ROM will almost certainly appear on XDA soon after the Telstra release. I intend to install that on my rooted and BL unlocked One X.
Of course, know the risks before doing any such mods on your phone, as they can cause permenent damage if done improperly, and may also void your warranty.

Just when I thought that AT&T was unacceptably slow with issuing the JB update for the Galaxy S3, I come across this post. If I recall correctly, the One X has been out on AT&T since April, and I have no idea what's causing such an extensive delay. Sure, Google released JB in July; technically, both GS3 and One X had the same amount of time to get it. The only plausible explanation is that GS3 got preferential treatment as a result of its popularity, and even that release was slow as molasses.
I've mentioned in the GS3 threads that I love LTE, and an AT&T-branded phone is required to get it. However, the more I read about AT&T's glacially slow update rollouts, the more I'm leaning towards getting a Nexus device when I get sick of my GS3.

Yah, I'm leaning twords the Nexus devices. As well are alot of other people, thats why their constantly sold out. The carriers are going to start losing people if they can't figure out how to get their bloatware into device updates quick enough. More Android manufacturers need to do what Apple does, and say if you wanna carry our device, you will roll out updates bloatware free, when we say you will.
The Google phones are only what $300ish dollars? And you get at least a couple huge updates a year. I can live with not having LTE to use the newest OS's. That's the reason I buy such an expensive flagship phone all the time.

Jellybean OTA for the Asian version of the One X (called the XL there) just started rolling out last night.
For those that are rooted, and bootloader unlocked, its already been posted in a flashable rooted format on XDA. I would be flashing it already, but the filehost traffic is already used up.
Telstra (Australia) has announced their rollout starts Dec. 24, and Rogers (Canada) in January. But for those that are stock AT&T, you're still stuck waiting.

AT&T could have released Jellybean to us long ago were it not for corporate greed on their part. I for one, as will many others, think long and hard before renewing any contracts with them.

Not really. The Asian OTA that started rolling out last night is the very first JB firmware for the dual core Snapdragon version of the One X. Then, as I said above, Telstra will release theirs next week, and Rogers in January. The S4 version exists on at least 8 carriers in 7 countries, and all of those are just beginning to get JB, or still waiting like us. The firmware simply was not ready for release until now.
The JB firmware that rolled out for a few months ago was for the quad core Tegra3 version, completely different chipset, and therefore completely different firmware.
Yes, when AT&T releases their update remains to be seen. Hopefully it will be soon, and it may be for all we know. But if you are tired of waiting, just root your phone and be done with it already.

Mostly, yes. Telstra has actually leaked that they are expecting approval on the 24th, after which is typically required another week or so of fine tuning and distribution via OTA updates. Likely will not start hitting majority of customers until after the 1st...

Asia OTA started rolling out 2 days ago.
Stock rooted version is on XDA (flashable if you are rooted and bootloader unlocked), and I'm now running stock HTC Jelly Bean.
Boom.

Thanks for the clarification. I saw an official chart from Rogers saying January, and heard about the Telstra Dec. 24 date, and think I confused the two (confused the Dec 24 Telstra date as an official release date).
