Thankfully, I was able to clear things through recovery - and its been a week after the last time it forced the update on me. I am fully expecting to go through the same thing next Thursday. ![]()
Thanks for checking though - I just wonder why updates like this are FORCED down our throats.

sub - not sure when the next one is coming, that would be Jam's. But given that the last one was a week ago and my system just tried doing it again...maybe the HTC says "i guess i will try once a week"? I dont know.
maybe Jam can enlighten us? ![]()

I love that you use kitty icons. ![]()
3.26.502.56_R23 is the only update I'm aware of at this time.

I like the Kitty icons ![]()
But - back to the update - could it be because I have an unlocked bootloader?

The weird thing is when I got this update last week, it downloaded and installed ok (or so I thought), but when I check the version, I still have 3.26.502.56 710RD. I just checked to see if there is an update, and got a message saying my software is up to date. Don't know what is going on.

Yeah, that is entirely possible. The updates are always designed for out of the box equipment so any modifications to software can have an impact.

All the more reason to wonder why updates would be forced down and not entirely optional. ![]()
I run android because I am a tinkerer. I guess that means that I have to probably re-lock my bootloader, upgrade, re-unlock and then reinstall and configure all of my apps...
Or I will just have to move to a different ICS Vivid build or custom one up ![]()

I got this update just now, it told me that something was wrong and the update won't apply, now Wi-Fi will not turn on, sitting in the "Turning Wi-Fi on" state! I don't see any one else mentioning this.

to all the devs.: what is it that's taking you so long to update to jellybean? why is it so hard when most other phones already have jellybean.. even my inspire4g has 4.1.2 LATEST and its smooth as butter.. why not just do the same to the VIVID not minor updates like this.. just give us Jellybean PLEASE!
To the devs of the vivid email me if you want with an answer as soon as posible ![]()

Jamileh - I thought I would be crafty and re-lock my bootloader and just use stock AT&T ICS - so I would not have to mess with new kernels.
Applied the update...and boy was my evening ruined. ![]()
Phone shutdown to apply update
Phone stops at bootloader saying there is a security issue
Reboot bootloader
Reboot phone
"Android upgrading apps" (taking forever)
Phone up...for about 20 seconds
Rinse and repeat.
I had to stop the phone in recovery and reapply the HTC software and re-image my phone from the ground up.
And now I am being prompted to update...again...I might try again tonight...else I am going to have to freeze the updating program.
