HTC Inspire 4g connection problems while texting

We have an Inspire 4g that suddenly has developed an issue with texting. Everytime we try to send a text, it appears to be sent but then says there is a connection problem and nothing is sent. Can receive and sent calls, use facebook and surf the internet, but can't text. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you just tried restarting the phone?

If that doesn't help, you can try a factory reset (you will lose the data on your phone):

That still doesn't help, you might need to exchange or repair the phone.
