I got the Samsung Galaxy SII in Oct 2011. In Oct 2012 it quit charging. No matter what charger I use (I've tried several) it won't charge. I called to see if it was still under warranty. I just missed the cut off since I got the phone in early Oct and this happened a year later but late Oct So it's not covered under warranty anymore. I have insurance on the phone. Would that cover the repairs to the port? I have tried everything to get it to work. I tried to use a new battery and that didn't work. So the only thing left is the port. I miss my phone. I am using an old Motorola right now. I can't wait to get my Galaxy fixed!

They don't bother with fixing the device or sending out repair parts.

Better than full retail price or adding a line with 2 yr contract.
You can also check to see when you're eligible for a upgrade: *NEW#
Honestly, if I were you, I would check to see when you're eligible for a discount/upgrade, and purchase the Samung Galaxy S III when you're eligible.

True that $199 is still cheaper than you would pay to replace the phone full retail (if it were still available from AT&T, which its not). While checking to see if you are eligible for an upgrade is a good idea; if you bought the phone a little over a year ago, you probably won't be eligible unless you have another line that happens to have an upgrade available.
Also, it may or may not make sense to pay $199 for a phone that is over a year old. Depending on your preferences and budget, you may just want to buy a new phone for full retail, or look into buying something more current (but used) on eBay or other places. I'm not in the practive of insuring phones. But at some point, it doesn't make sense to insure something what is somewhat obsolete. 1 year (if not less) is probably the most I would insure a phone for. As by that time, I'm probably looking to get something more current if I lost or broke the phone. But some people replace their phones less often.

Thanks everyone. I checked on an upgrade but I am not elgible until next April. I did buy an older Razr off Ebay just to have something to use. I hate it! It has tons of glitches. After dealing with that I am willing to spend the $199 to get my phone fixed!
