Can anyone tell me why the iPhone 4 won't automatically reconnect to the microcell when I'm back in range. I need to put it in air plain mode for 10 seconds and then it will connect..

Which iOS are you running? If it has the option for LTE enabled, I'd turn that off because the iPhone 4 can't connect to LTE and that might be confusing the phone. Another thing you can do is reset the iPhone. iOS 6.x allows you to Reset Network Settings and that may help. However, you will probably lose passwords and a few other settings that will need to be re-entered.

Power interruption? How do you have it setup? Is the 3G light blinking green or red in the morning?

Ok. If the 3G light is blinking green (and that's the only light blinking), then the MicroCell is not "talking" to the AT&T servers. I'm assuming that your internet is fine. Is your connection: modem -> router -> MicroCell? Have you tried priority mode?: modem -> MicroCell ->? That rules out any problems with the router. Try a hard reset of the MicroCell (hold in the reset button on the back of the MicroCell for about 30 seconds). What kind of internet connection do you have and what are the speeds?

Ok. That's a priority connection and will take the router out of the chain which is a good way to rule that out. Home base unit? Is that the AT&T Wireless Home Phone?

Let's see if you can get the MicroCell up and running without adding the WHP (Wireless Home Phone). If your internet works without any issues and you are able to make and receive cell phone calls without any issues, then we'll get the WHP connected. Trying to do it all at once gets too confusing. The hard reset is for the MicroCell.

Will I need to reactivate my microcell after a hard reset or will it come back up on its own.
If you haven't done so already, use the link in MY sig for the AT&T MicroCell Troubleshooting Guide. Holding in the reset button for about 30 seconds runs the MicroCell thru it's boot sequences and you will see the lights blink on and off, after about 30 seconds, releast the button and the MicroCell should go thru the boot sequence again like it does when it first powers up. I think the instructions are in the Guide. You may have to wait for it to communicate with AT&T for it to check if there's an account associated with it but you shouldn't have to go thru the online activation page again.

Ok. If the MicroCell lights were all solid green, and your iPhone dropped the connection, try resetting the iPhone's network connection. Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. However, that may lose some of your network settings so make sure you've noted them somewhere so you can put them back in if they reset to default.

There are currently reported issues with iPhone 4 and iOS 6.1.1 having 3G connectivity issues that Apple is aware of. This would affect any 3G connection. I don't know if this is your issue or not but if the 3G light on the MicroCell is still blinking then it's something else. Have you heard anything further from CustomerCare?

This is getting interesting, at least for me. Very frustrating for you though
So it appears that both phones lose connection about the same time every morning (early)? Can you tape the MicroCell light pattern and the phones at the same time? It would be interesting to see if there is a "blink" on the MicorCell corresponding to your phones losing connectivity.

If it were me, I wouldn't update, at least not yet. The update is for issues that probably have no bearing on your issues, and you don't want to introduce another factor.

That looks like something is happening with your ISP because you're losing connection at about the same time everynight. AT&T does their updates in the middle of the night but not everynight. They only update once in awhile. If your IP address is changing then that could be why your phones can't reconnect after losing connection with your ISP. I'd ask them if they are doing any maintenance or something like that during that time frame. If all the lights are all on on the MicroCell and your phone still disconnects, then that may indicate the phone is losing the signal.
