So I de-activated and reactivated the microcell. All lights and lit and my phone shows five bars AT&T Microcell and yet when I try to place a call, I continually get "call failed." I've had the Microcell for a year with no issue until now. My phone still places calls fine when not connect to the Microcell.
Oh yeah, I also tried removing my sim, turning off cellular data, restarting my phone, resetting my network connections. Nothing.
What to do?

I'm having the same problem since this morning. When placing a call, get "Cal Failed" and when trying to reach the mobile number through landline, after few rings, drops.
All lights on Microcell are solid.
Looks like Microcell is not passing the traffic to network.

If both of you are in the same region, it's possible that AT&T is performing maintenance/updates in your area and port 4500 is being flaky. You may want to send a pm to ATTCustomerCare (blue envelope in the upper right side of the page) and see if they can get support to look into your issue.

Thanks. I sent a PM to ATTCustomerCare.
In the meantime I have disconnected my Microcell so that I can at least make some calls and receive calls in certain corners of my house, where I have little reception.

I am in Southampton, PA just outside Philadelphia and started having this problem early this morning. I called AT&T and they told me my microcell is out of warranty and to go buy a new one. I'm glad I came across this forum and see that other people are having these issues.

If they told you it's your Microcell's fauly, I find that HIGHLY suspect as magically all of ours failed at the same time..

I was texted a URL by the CS Rep, which may be for their intranet as it does not appear to be a resolvable domain: https://flex.web.att.com/MNSCP/care_nss_trends/398
So, no phone service for me for an unknown amount of time during business hours.

ATTCustomerCare has "normal" work hours for CST. Being as this is the day before the Thanksgiving Holiday, response may be delayed. I will followup with my support contact next week to see what's going on because support should not be telling you to get another MicorCell when it is apparently on AT&T's end. And just for the record, I am not an employee of AT&T, just someone who had MicroCell issues a long time ago and is now trying to help others resolve their problems.

Same problem here in Delaware! My iphone 5 was working fine on the microcell until today! All calls failed and people trying to call me have emailed me telling me that their calls are not going through. I need this fixed ASAP!

I am having the same exact issue today. I am in Voorhees area. Phone shows full bars from MCell but can not receive or make phone calls.
I started having issues about a week ago with garbled sounds coming through when other person was speaking during the call.

This is starting to sound like an Eastern problem. Possibly an issue related to the recent Sandy storm. Re-routing services while others are being repaired. Pure speculation on my part but......

I'm just glad it's not my unit! I'd hate to give up my unlimited iPhone data but I am loath to purchase another Microcell tower!!!
Happy holiday to those who celebrate.

Just got off phone with Customer Service, apparently there is a MicroCell issue throughout Pennsylvania and NJ. No ETA due to the holiday. The issue is with the phone service through the MicroCell, text messages are going through okay.

1. Power-cycle MicroCell and broadband router. Force MicroCell update, ensure router has enough table space to support MCell's VPN.
2. Wait for MicroCell to come back up - all lights on solid. Then power-cycle (shut down COMPLETELY; then power on again) all phones that use that use the MicroCell. The phone MUST be in MicroCell range when you do this.
I added a phone to our MicroCell this morning. The site gave a pop-up message that the added phone would have to be power-cycled the first time it was in MicroCell range in order to work.
My phone then had the symptoms described in this forum until I finally guessed that all registered phones had to power-cycle while on the MicroCell.
Hope this helps.

I am from central PA, and having the same issues as everyone else on here. I am an hour north of Harrisburg. My Mcell worked great yesterday, today all i can do is send text messages. I have a iPhone 4S as does my gf. We can't iMessage either. How do I force updates to my mcell? I hope they resolve this issue asap. I have either no service or 2 bars max in my house and its very spotty.

The issue has been deemed to be an issue with AT&T's network side of things for the microcells in PA, NJ, and some parts of DE. The last communication I had with a CSR, they were working on the issue and expected it to be resolved with 12 hours. So hopefully by afternoon today our Microcells will be back up and running again. Happy Turky Day.

I've been compiling a list this week of issues, service and support related, that I will send to my customer support contact next week and we'll see what happens. In the meantime, everyone have a save and really enjoyable Thanksgiving.
