HELP! Microcell and Airport Extreme

I have been trying for days to connect my Microcell to my computer with no sucess. I have an iMac with an Airport Extreme router. I have tried all the configurations and nothing seems to work. I am guessing it has something to do with the router but when I look up settings changes nothing even looks that same with the AE. I am hoping there is someone out there with a Mac that help me get through this. I live in Blaine, WA up by the Canadian border, so the AT&T towers are turned way down which is why I can't get a signal even inside my own home!

UPDATE!

I tried pressing the 'reset' button for 30 seconds and it now works!!!!

Why didn't the tech support people tell me to try that????
